While I haven't seen or spoken to Nia in many years, thinking of her brings back so many happy memories from our time together in Cupertino. She had the kind of light that filled every room she walked into...a contagious smile and a warmth that made everyone around her feel welcome. She was truly such a kind soul, and the world is a little dimmer without her in it. My heart goes out to everyone who knew and loved her.

I was going through some moving boxes today and I found a vintage vase and wallet that Nia gave me probably 10 years ago that I absolutely adore. She was so thoughtful and I’m so lucky to have these little reminders of her.

She texted me a couple months ago with the sweetest encouragement “Constantly cheering you on, always have been. ❤️” I really needed that and I will forever cherish her kindness and support. The world is a better place because she was here and I’m grateful to have known her.

I never met Nia personally but we have a mutual friend, Catherine. When I was pregnant with my daughter, Catherine gave me some beautiful vintage baby clothes that Nia had thrifted. We were stationed in Germany at the time so those clothes made it all the way across the world. I still have those outfits and plan to save them for my future grandchildren. I just wanted to write and comment that Nia touched many lives even of those she never personally met. Sending love and prayers to her family during this difficult time.
